On February 12, 2005, a diesel train owned by Cotswold Rail was named after Joe Strummer at a ceremony in Bristol, UK, a little more than 2 years after his death at 50.

I don’t care if you’re a guy or a girl — just admit it! You have a crush on Paul Simonon. The first song to feature Paul as writer and lead vocalist. And a great first effort, capturing the tension that boiled over into the Brixton race riots later in the ’80s. Such a classic bass line (later sampled, much to the benefit of the Simonon finances) that it’s hard to believe he learned to play just to be in the Clash. Live, he used to switch off with Joe Strummer on this tune because he found it tricky to sing and play that bass line at the same time.

About:

>>>

We love the music of the 80's. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly. It's all here.

Any band or artist that recorded during the 1980's is welcomed here. But we reserve the right to include pioneers from the 70's and the hearty few that made it into the early 90's as well. So please, no quibbling about release dates.

So stay awhile and flip through our collection.
