Fresh for ‘88, suckas! KRS-One began writing more socially conscious rhymes and adopted the “Teacha” persona after BDP’s original DJ, Scott La Rock, was killed in a shooting months after the release of their first album, ‘87’s “Criminal Minded.” Ironically, that record helped lay the foundation for gangsta rap, with raw depictions of life in the South Bronx. But after a fan was killed in a fight at an ‘88 BDP/Public Enemy show, KRS-One was inspired to form the Stop the Violence Movement to protest and reverse the hip-hop indu$try’s tendency to promote violent and criminal lifestyles. AM I WRONG?

We love the music of the 80's. The good, the bad, and the downright ugly. It's all here.
Any band or artist that recorded during the 1980's is welcomed here. But we reserve the right to include pioneers from the 70's and the hearty few that made it into the early 90's as well. So please, no quibbling about release dates.
So stay awhile and flip through our collection.
